Default AP1 and Sp1

Does anyone know of any correlation between the chassis designation AP1/AP2 and the Ducati killing SP1/SP2 superbikes produced by Honda Racing Corp (HRC) in the early 2000s ? Both share a similar digital dash. Why the S2K chassis is called AP, and the bike SP, any connection ?

AP1 and AP2 designate the engines, not the chassis. No similarity between 1000cc V-twin engines and our I-4 setup I can find.

The V-twin engine was a way around the 750cc limit for 4-cylinder engines under the racing rules of the time. Lasted only a couple of years as I recall before the displacement limit got boosted to 1000cc across the board.
