Default Atom gets an upgrade

Don't know if anyone has noticed, but for 2012 the Ariel Atom will now, in it's base configuration, will come with a 230hp K24.

Can you say torque?

Looking forward to the day I have a garage and the time/money to build my own atom-clone.

Followed a thread of someone in South Africa that did this very thing (since an Atom would have cost him around $200k USD), and it was an extremely interesting project. He ended up using an I6 from a Supra, though.

And now the other shoe drops. A number of the new k24's blocks have been recalled for oil consumption and one tuner pulled one apart and his comment to me it look like Ford built the bottom end, all 4 cylinders tolerances seem to be inconsistent. Honda has had issues in the past the f20c wasnt properly honed and the cylinders are slightly ovular and the 08 cbr 1000rr can eat up to a quart of oil every 200 miles but they have always been fixed, I am not sure with the new k24 that's going to be the case.

I think with the new K24 we have seen the end of what Honda used to be and what trying to keep up with Toyota has turned it into. Only now Toyota is making better sports cars even.

Mmmm rs 500 option looks tasty though.

Yes, and I can spell it too. There are several different ways of spelling it, but the first two letters are normally the same. LS1, LS2, LS3, ect...

Fairly standard stock LS3 dyno to the wheels.
