Default Audi TT RS

http://www.autoblog.com/2016/04/25/2...00-horsepower/

Looks to be in direct competition with the Porsche 718 and the BMW M2. 400hp and a 5 cylinder. Thoughts?

I imagine it's going to be quite a bit faster than both of those cars in a straight line. I like the TT. It's a cool little car. It's just always been hard to justify the cost in a world where the Cayman exists.

Derp, it says so right in the article. Sorry about the captain obvious routine.

The roadster in grey looks pretty spectacular, overall though I still think the Cayman S/Boxster S has it beat in the looks department (and probably in the driving dynamics).

TT RS could actually be a DD for those of us that have to deal with snow though.

I loved the last TT RS, this one looks even better

I would echo this and still probably prefer the M2 as well. One of the main complaints about the recent TT's has been the AWD makes it feel pretty sterile even if it makes it quite capable.

I think it looks ok, but the scoops in the nose that were complained about in the M2 thread must be pretty functional because the TT's look almost identical.

I would take it if somebody gave it to me, but when you watch reviews of the Cayman/Boxster or M2 and people are grinning and hooting and talking about how much fun it is, and then see recent TT reviews and see that kind of sentiment is absent, well I want the fun car over the sterile one any day. And given that current TT prices exceed the M2, this won't be priced even close.

I like the TT, really, but it is just an also ran car. As a fwd it is a joke, and as awd, it just ends up overpriced and under-competitive. For $70-75k, I could have a Corvette and a slightly used WRX, or any of another myriad combination of cars, not to mention a used 911 4S for the "all growned up" version of the TT.

I like the specs, but I can't help but think the TT looks like a steroided-up version of a VW Beetle. And I don't get that impression from any of the current Porsche models. The cabrio with the top down looks vastly better.

I wonder how much better it will be than a Golf R at twice the price.

It will have 100 more hp, a nicer interior, and a more sporty exterior, but worth 2x's a Golf R?
