Default Auto transport?

I know this has been discussed in the past but I would like to hear from people who have moved cars in the last year or two. I will likely be moving a restored 1940's car so I am leaning towards enclosed but price is a factor.

Any info you can give me will be appreciated.

I had a very good experience with DAS ( http://www.dasautoshippers.com ) and their price was very reasonable. The only hiccup was that they tried to deliver the car early, which I had asked them not to do because I was out of town, but that's pretty minor. I did the door-to-door shipping option.

An already restored car should use enclosed unless you are ready to re-restore it in case there is some weather damage. Ride height is another main consideration to go enclosed instead of open.

Good luck.

DAS is ok if you ship some common cars. I have used them alot in the past and most of the time it's ok. I would not use DAS for expensive carsor nicer cars. In the case, I use Intercity Lines. They cost a bit more but they ship your car in enclosed container and cover your car inside the container and they take good care of it. FWIW, I just shipped my NSX from Ohio to San Diego for $1700.

Thanks guys. I am going to spend the extra for enclosed. It's about a 1500 mile trip so I don't want it subjected to hail, etc.
