Default automatic transmission WRX?

I have to sell my '02 Explorer soon since my wife doesn't want an suv anymore. I was looking at 4 door cars and was considering the Accord to go with my S2000. Well, yesterday, a buddy of mine said "dude, why don't you get an automatic WRX?" I thought he was joking at first, but I asked around, and yeah, they come in automatic. Does anyone have any experience with this car? I need a 4 door because I'm gonna be a dad soon and my wife hates to drive standard. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

I'd get an Accord over an AUTO WRX.

In my two test drives of the WRX, I felt that the slushbox sucked the life out of the car. Not that I put much worth in what the trade rags say, but I believe they concur as I've seen large spreads (as much as 1.5 to 2.0 seconds) in 0-60 acceleration times between the auto and manual.

I like the WRX (and really wish Subaru would offer an STi wagon so I could haul the dog around) but I wouldn't buy one in a slushbox.

Well, I guess the Accord would be better overall. More reliable, more comfortable, looks--about even (4 door version), V6 vs turbo 4..........

Whats a Legacy turbo? Sedan or wagon? I also thought about the Saab 9-2x coming out. Basically a WRX in Saab clothing. What do you guys think of that one?

4runner, that's cool, except the faster than the S2000 part scares me. I don't want the wifes car to be faster than my car. That would not be a good thing with the fella's. I can hear my friends now.

Hey, 4runner, how much more power does your car make with the chip on an automatic? I thought turbo cars like auto trans better?
