Default AutoShow In Motion - worth going to?

I got a postcard in the mail today for this event. Has anyone gone to this event before? Is this going to be worth my time, or will there be tons of waiting around to get to test drive? Thanks.

Everyone I knew that went really enjoyed it. How often do you get to auto-X a Z06? Heard the lines can get pretty bad though. I think there is a free lunch isn't that enough?

I did it last year and had a great time. As long as you aren't too stupid with the cars, they pretty-much leave you alone. I did get asked to slow down on the SUV course.

The biggest surprise for me was the Saab 9-3. I really liked the way it handled and felt around the course. The biggest dissapointment was the Caddy CTS. I guess I was just expecting too much.

i have been two years in a row. you have to wait for 40 min average for each car to drive for about a minute or less...you can drive all the cars you want, you get a box lunch and softdrinks...you have some time to kill and want to drive a vette or hummer or bmw, etc...it is worth it, just a taste of each auto. worth it, well maybe once or twice, it is a circus.

In my exp, if you go early (like 9 or 10), there are no lines - you just hop in. Start with the mid size sedans and suv, cause they get the biggest lines, then move on to trucks and compacts. You have to hit the Z06 last, but since you got there early, there are still no lines. After driving, get the free lunch, take some extra lemonade, and reminisce about how GM cars just don't quite measure up. The trucks are nice though.

Thanks for the info.. I hate waiting around, but I'd like to check out the C6 and maybe one of the cadillacs. If I can get up early, maybe I'll go.

it depends if you have nothing to do that day...the line can be over an hour for driving the vette...but if you like going on test drives then why not???

It is well worth it. Go late in the day, the track officials by then don't care how you treat the cars. My buddy and I flogged Caddy CTSs for a solid half-hour around the track.
