Exclamation Behold the 2021 Genesis G80

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...0-photos-info/

G70, G90, GV80, and now this.

Audi-esque, but better? Looks like some Mercedes lines as well.. Genesis has been hiring Eurpoean designers for years - is it finally coming into its own?

Earlier this year, Genesis beat Lexus for three-year old car reliability. That, plus $50-70k range, makes for an interesting car.

Yawn.. Another hodge-podge of copied design lines with lackluster driving dynamics and sub-par reliability. It's a knockoff german car in every sense..

I'm genuinely rooting for Hyundai / Kia / Genesis. It wasn't that long ago that they were a total joke. Heck, I remember reading about how JD Power visited their factory in the 80s and it had dirt floors. They've come a long way and are really killing it lately with their product offerings. I would still trust a Honda or a Toyota over a Hyundai product, but they are unquestionably putting heart and soul into their vehicles, whereas it feels like Honda and Toyota are just sort of on autopilot.

Looks good, solid option. Everytime I go the car show and compare the Genesis line to the other makes, I get more and more impressed. The value is definitely there, the aesthetic I'm more in tune with than Lexus, and I have more faith in the running cost aspect than anything from Germany.

Like to see them pushing it forward and giving the market options.

Good-looking car! Personally, I really like the Genesis styling for all of their products - they've been doing that well for years.

The last auto show I sat in a Lincoln Aviator and was very much impressed. Then I sat in a Palisade, and was amazed at how it was better. And the GV80 is a nicer version of that?

Hyundai has been investing in this area for years and I think it shows.

Speaking of Lincoln, how the hell does Ford think that the Navigator is a 100k vehicle? I think I am more discerning than most, but I'm also very forgiving, but that interior, for 100k, is just a joke. The pen to paper design is good I suppose, but the execution, fit and finish, and materials, it's like someone took an F150 and dropped it off at West Coast Customs. Sorry, that's an undeserving knock on West Coast Customs, but you get my point.

Yeah, Hyundai is really hitting their stride. I wish they kept the NA V8 vs. going with twin turbo, the added complexity if a future headache, just more wear items, more things that can spring a leak that will illuminate some lamp.

What V8's that are currently sold are not turbo? Or any higher HP, or engine on a premium higher end car that is not turbo?

Lexus comes to mind for premium high-end car with N/A V8. And C8 Vette if that qualifies. But yeah, they're getting thin and the Lexus one is more likely just a holdover from the past that will be replaced soon.
