my opinion,
I think it's a toss-up between the CBR 600rr and kawa 636. Both of these are really light, well balanced, and these still can get you up to 150mph +. The handling of my CBR is unbelievable. The 636's handling is good but not quite as good as the CBR (although what is done with the bike is ultimately what the rider can do), but the 636's has a little bit more power and you can definitely notice that small difference in the CC's especially in the bottom end. These two bikes I also think are the two best looking. The yama R-6 front end looks like it's unfinished and I'm still not digging that wide front nose on the gixxer (except for the 1000 with the smaller headlight, which I think is one of the best looking 1000's). I really don't think any of them are bad, just kinda depends on what you like styling wise. I like bikes so much, I would like to have one of each.

The CBR600 is probably the best in terms of build quality but buyers have been piling intio the Kawasaki showrooms to buy the 636 ever since they came out. Ride a few bikes and see which one feels right to you.
What's your level of skill ? Any track experience or just a squid ? Depends on what you want to do. How do you expect feedback from strangers if you don't explain what you want out of a bike . If you have had previous bike experience you should know what each manf does well and what their short comings are . Said it before 99.9% of people who buy sportbikes never use more than 10 % of a bikes true capabilities ,if they did they would get their bikes for free along with a factory contract.
Go to a motorcycle safety class and learn the basics, from there attend a racing school ( those skills will help you on the street ). Then you will learn what type of a rider you are and you can make a decision on what type of bike meets your needs. Good luck and buy some good leathers and a good quality helmet, gloves ,boots, back protector not off brand crap just cause it's cheap. Rider comfort is key so you can concentrate on your riding not your gear.

I'd suggest:
Level 1 and 2 of keith code's school. California superbikeschool
or
CLASS
or
STAR
All are pretty reasonable prices for a day of track time. Locally, around here there are quite a few track "days" groups host.
www.nesba.com is one national one. They have different groups for different skill levels.
