I like having the widescreen on my TT too, I didn't think it was a big deal with my old GPS, but I appreciated it after I upgraded

garmin nuvi 255W from buy.com with friction mount. for 245 shipped.. North America only.

make sure you pick up the XX5 version.. not the XX0. whether it be 655 or 205 or 265.. the xx5 version has latest hardware and firmware.. it draws faster than my 06 infinity M35 Nav..

plus being able to add POI's from POIfactory.com make it one of the most cost effective units out ther..

ok i'm sounding like a damn sales rep.... sorry i'm not associated with garmin.. I just love my 255w.

thanks for the POI link, I've never used that before, but it looks like it has some good POIs in there- I found another good link for the TomTom folks out there- a little pricier than the 255W at $329 shipped, but a bargain considering it's a top of the line GO 730 model for those of you guys on the TomTom train like me- http://www.cameraaddict.com/viewproduct.aspx?ID=9949787

Let me strap on my Flamesuit.

I want to get a low end Garmin (200-205-255) for my Girlfriend for Xmas. Only stipulation, she wants it to be PINK!!!! I know, I know. She's gotta have pink. I'd be better off buying here a map book and coloring it with a pink highlighter than buying her a normal colored NAV system. Help a brother out, what are the best Pink Garmin NAV systems out there for under $300.

My old Garmin C550 has a replaceable faceplate trim to change colors. I don't know if it comes in pink but you could always spray paint one.

I think the Nuvi 200 that Best Buy had was available in pink.

I think I saw that one but a lot of people were complaining that it doesn't have the voice to tell you street names? Is this correct? I think it would serve her best to hear street names.

I have a Nuvi 200 (non-pink). It doesn't tell you street names, it just says "turn left". It does display the street name. I got my Nuvi for $100 so I will accept the lack of street names. However it sure wouldn't be a bad feature to have. If she will "put up" with a nice looking black unit, Amazon has the Magellan 4250 refurb for $125. That's a really nice unit including bluetooth, street names and a great POI database. I had the jr version (see post way above) for a bit. It would be a great unit for someone who just wants to enter the address or the store name and go. It's not as great for people like me who want to get lost in on the open road or search an electronic map for the next set of twisties.
