But the truth is, those cars from the factory weren't NEARLY as fast as legend has it. ~110 in the 1/4 is fast, but it's not supercar fast. Totally blueprinted to the nth degree and taking advantage of every trick in the book while remaining "stock" according to FAST or Factory Stock rules, still in the 120mph range. Which is quite fast. But a bone stock C6 Z06 is faster in a straight line, and WAY the hell faster if you throw in some curves.

That might be a bit of a stretch for most people! And you're still stuck with a ladder frame and archaic C3 suspension (it was quite novel and innovative for 1963, but not ideal for seriously grippy tires).

I was curious if someone would bring up an Atom 300/500. Most testers seem to be lapping the SR3SL faster than the Atom 500. In a straight line the Atom 500 wins, but on a road course the Radical should be faster. The much, much more efficient aero on the Radical mean that it has much more downforce, and less drag.

That said, depending on the length of the straights, it could go either way, but most tracks would favor the Radical.
