It's why Toyota got away for long selling the same V6 and V8s despite virtually everything else under the sun getting better mpgs with more power and cheap service intervals, it's that long term durability, at least preceived durability anyway.

It is pretty astonishing what they're able to do out of these huge vehicles these days.
Seeing how quickly the domestic trucks rust themselves apart up here would stop me from buying another one. Our '16 1500 Chevy with the 5.3 was crap, never again, the excuses from the dealer just made it worse. Happy day when I traded it in for my Land Rover.

Everybody has different experiences, but statistically a Chevy truck will last a lot longer and be more reliable than any Land Rover. YMMV.

My '23 Silverado in 15k miles in the last 8 months has had exactly zero issues including no squeaks, rattles, anything. I think it's the first car I've owned that's needed literally nothing besides an oil change and DEF in the first 15k miles. Of course, it's still early so time will tell. I own 4 GM vehicles currently which surprised even me. But, they've always treated me good personally and provide a lot of value for what I find important. So, I guess I keep buying them.

Interior is legitimately nice on the '22+ refresh as well. 30+mpg is realistic if willing to drive 70mph or under on the highway. Best to date is 32.4mpg on an easy highway drive for my 4wd Z51 model. Otherwise, it's mid to lower 20's if driving 80-90mph+ which is still awesome for a full-size truck. Rpm at 90mph is just under 2,000rpm so feels very under-stressed bombing down the highway. Never needs to downshift.

I can't say enough good things about how good the LM2/LZ0 3.0 Duramax is for smooth, quiet power with a ton of torque (495) at low rpm. Really the perfect half-ton truck engine for actual truck stuff. Reliability has been great so far on the powertrain since it came out in 2020. GM did good on this one. Definitely one of their better engines they've done.
A friend just bought the GMC version. AT4 Duramax. Sounds like yours is spec’d the same. He paid 59k brand new, which makes the price of these electric trucks just completely stupid. He said the same thing about the Duramax as you did. He averaged high 20’s on a recent trip to Galveston for a sailing class/certification on a 40 foot. The 4X4 system is excellent because of the G80 differential. The AWD mode on that thing is awesome.
