Default bosses next car?

boss is looking to replace his a4 2.0t 6spd with either an a4 cab 2.0t quattro tip or a saab 9-3 vert with the turbo 2.8v6. they are priced similarly. his wife currently drives a 9-5 aero wagon...so they have no particular affinity for one brand over the other. both are 07's ie the saab is not the facelifted 08'

valuable insight or experiences?

I'd probably get the Saab. It'll be much cheaper in the real world, I would guess. Plus, it's got a lot more power.

I much prefer the exterior styling of the Audi, but it sounds like he doesn't care. In my opinion, both interiors are ugly. If he wants to keep it a long time, Saab has a better reputation than Audi for reliability, and I think Saab has a lot of customers that don't want to own anything else--I assume this loyalty has been earned for a reason.

Beyond that, though, these are not cars I would consider shopping for, so your boss's wants and needs are probably different enough from mine that I doubt he would get any further value from my opinion.

I say buy a car that was designed as a convertible, so you don't wind up with an overweight, goofy looking car w/ a overly flexible chassis. But, if I had to pick, I'd lease the Audi.
