Boxster S or S/C S2000 + $$
R&T managed 5.0 to 60 and 13.4@105 through the 1/4.
That's pretty similar to a Comptech'd S2000.
Is it worth $20k more? Which would be the new car to new car difference.
Is it worth $30k more? That would be the cost out of pocket vs upgrading my current car.
I know that the richie riches will say... sure, chump change. Spend it. But maybe I'll just upgrade the Honda and wait until the cash streams in... and the house is paid for... and the rest of the stable is upgraded....
Disclaimer: Yes, I know Car and Driver tested the actual Comptech S2000 at $60,000 including all their performance upgrades, but that's MSRP + hardtop + $14,000 in brakes, suspension, and wheels/tires... and it was 0-60 in 4.7 and 13.3 @ 108.... So that's why I estimated down in price and performance....
Sorry, the stupid V4 doesn't like the $ term and cut out the prices.
And doesn't let you edit the poll.
Should be:
Boxster S = $60k
2005 S2k + S/C, clutch, diff, gears = $40k plus $20k in pocket
2002 S2k + S/C, clutch, diff, gears = $30k plus $30k in pocket.

Well, for me, the BS. But I don't care about the cost.
Haven't driven the new one, but I like the photos etc.
I have a S2000 and it doesn't have some stuff such as TC and stability control. There's no way to add that to a S2000. I don't know how much those are good things or just fluff, but sometimes the S2000 gets can get loose.
The BS has more TQ there's no getting around that. It has 50% more displacement and TQ.
The BS has a nicer interior, tilt/teloscoping wheel, more room etc...
Point is the S2000 is great, but the BS does everything the S2000 does and more.
Also, I don't like to mod cars that much, IMO the stock BS is already where it should be as far as power.

Supercharge the S2000 I wouldn`t go out and spend 60Kt on a entry level porchse . The S2000 would only cost probably 10K to upgrade with some goodies from comptech and still beat the new Boxster S. But thats just my opinion. I am a Honda man all the way so I will always pick the Honda.
