Build your Porsche
I built mine a year and a half ago, ordered it, got it, and love it every day. But I went the opposite direction from most of the posts here - I explicitly did NOT order many options. Don't need leather on every surface of the car, don't need nav, don't need much of anything but the car itself. Combine that with the dealer knocking about $8K off the price, and it gets closer to reasonable.

the OP had a white on white carrera lol
White on White is hot. Black on yellow.. um...? LOL
I just drove my co-workers husbands 2008 Boxster S on our way back from lunch.
Great car, plenty of power down low, took it up to about 5K in gears 1-3. Like the car now much more than I did before, it sounded great too!
Funny thing is, we had to make a short stop at a different clients site while I was driving. I was in front of the building and one of the Partners at our consulting firm walks up and I rolled down the window to say hi. He side stepped and got the wtf face ( I drive my daily into work which is a Mazda6 yet everyone knows in the office I'm a car fanatic but don't know about my S). So he looks at the car, than me, than the car again and starts making small talk, stops looks at me and looks at the car again, so I said thanks for the promotion (I got promoted to Sr. Consultant last month). He's like yeah you're welcome, so I stopped him and told him that it's not mine but the co-workers hubby's. And he's like oh wow ok, I was thinking a whole lot of other things as well..
But it just confirms my theory of driving something flashy at my age to work sets off alarms, I don't think I would get as big of a reaction but still a reaction if I took my S in because no one knows about it and looks a lot more expensive than it is.
Either way, definitely enjoyed the Porsche experience, would like to give the Cayman S a shot next.

That, a fully stocked transport and support vehicle, and lots and lots of track time all over Europe = heaven.
