I apologize if he's telling the truth, but $20,000 for a GTR-34 (with only 20,000 km) and only $5000 to convert to LHD? Just seems a little far fetched:

bleh. making it LHD takes away like 30% of the cool factor. i would just leave it RHD.

I think I recall reading somewhere a while back that the Altima dashboard can be used to convert Skylines from RHD to LHD. Not sure if that's really true, but if it is, then the $5k conversion sounds plausible.

As for the car costing $20k, I suppose that could be possible if it was purchased in another country, perhaps used?

You see Skylines in So Cal from time to time, and they're freakin' badass! Looks unrefined and aggressive, really mean.

Yeah, but most (all?) in So Cal come from Motorex and you have to bend over before they can tell you the price!

They do come from Motorex. The price, when they have one in stock, is usually posted on their website, though...at least it used to be. When they first started importing them a few years ago ('99 or '00 right?), I think it was something in the neighborhood of $95k for a R34 GTR.

At any rate, my only point in mentioning the Skylines I've seen in So Cal is that they're badass cars.

Used cars in Japan are really cheap. R34 GT-R with 20,000 km should cost no more than $30K. I know a guy who bought an almost brand new GT-R for $40K and imported to US. He ended up paying $20K extra to have Motorex legalized it.
Well, $60K is still a pretty good deal.

BTW, LHD Skyline uses Maxima's dash.
