Interesting thread, thought about gettin a C6 Z06. I can probably get over the interior but not the seats. Mostly worried about tire costs.

The C6 z06 is a hell of a car and i do wanr one. However, I've been reading stories on the Vette forums of bone stock LS7s dropping valves and hassles with Chevys warranty. The LS2/3 doesn't seem to suffer this issue though.

A C6 Z06 would be wonderful but they're still well out of my price range. I've heard the same about the LS7 issues. From my research it looks like you can get a base C6 near the same power output with bolt-ons + tune; add a cam swap to push it beyond a stock Z06. I'm sure I'd be more than happy with the stock performance for at least a year before I decided to start modding. Headers + intake + tune would be very high on my list of first mods.

I've had the privilege of owning an '08 C6(LS3 w/ TR6060).
While both the S2000 and the Vette offer plenty of fun-to-drive-factor, the way they present them is totally different.
I'm sure you're familiar with the fun one can enjoy while driving the S.
Obviously the Vette has an engine character that couldn't be more different than the hi-revving F20c/22c
With stock, non-z51 suspension, you could feel the front of the car lifting while accelerating. It's just ridiculous.
Although revving the heck out of our inline 4 banger is fun, I honestly think that the laziness you can enjoy while accelerating at higher gear with that V8 is also addicting.
To me, the S2000 felt more like a race-ready car for track duty; the Vette more of a grand tourer.
It has more interior space, but it definitely feels huge from the inside. Seats are.. crappy but cushy, 30MPG highway gas mileage, list could go on and on..
Call me crazy, but I DD'ed my Vette for 2 years including Michigan winter. The car was definitely not made for winter, but I didn't encounter much problem while doing so.

I have to agree with this statement, because I had a scary moment when I was driving in the rain.
A little bit of careless gas can make the rear break loose.. very easily.
Fortunately the Active Handling saved my a$$, but it sure was a scary experience.

I have nothing but good memories of my older S2000 and Vette. Both of 'em are wonderful cars.
If you find yourself enjoying comfy ride and the addicting V8 growl, the Vette might be the perfect car for you.
Good luck!

Trust me, you will be very satisfied with the stock power.
