Harsh. I also think the NSX looks better than the C8, but the C8 looks cool in its own way. The back end is growing on me.

The article I see at the link asks whether the C8 will decrease NSX sales. It definitely isn't going to help unless it completely flops!

can the nsx and c8 really be talked about as competitors when one sells out and one hardly sells?

This is a good take. I’d argue it needs to be mentioned the potential market sizes if each. Admittedly, these are assumptions, but we have to start somewhere, and if we assume no more than 1/3 of gross income for a new car, then the vette (At 70k) is around the top 4% of individual income earners and the NSX (at 160k) is less than the top 1%.

The top 4% is around 13 million people while less than the top 1% is less than 3.3 million. Both those numbers are quite large and I’m being capt obvious, but I think it’s easier to make more sales with the former rather the latter. Though I’m aware of the argument that as you go up higher in income, more of it is disposable. I’m curious how much of that translates into second/third car purchases.

These two are not going to be cross-shopped. Maybe a potential ZR1 shopper would cross-shop a used NSX. The C7 ZR1 is $120,000, still a loaded Accord's worth short of the NSX's starting price.

On the street, the NSX is probably going to be quicker. On the track, I'd bet on the C8 every time. In a straight line, the NSX is also probably quicker but not by much.

I think the NSX looks better, mainly because the C8 has intakes on the side that are just too prominent. The back end looks longer as well - not quite as sleek and well-integrated as the NSX.

Still, as always, the Corvette is a massive bargain offering roughly equal (and in some ways) superior performance to cars double or triple its price, it appears. Will be interesting to see a comparison of the two, in terms of performance, usability, track capability and also build quality. I believe Jay Leno says the NSX is the best-built car he's ever owned....?

If I had a choice, I'd take the NSX. Impressive technology and looks to be more hand made than the Vette. Honda's production line is more impressive than GM's. NSX could be finest car (beyond Ford GT) manufactured in the US.

No, they can't - because if the C8 is already sold out, it can't compete with the NSX!

I think you are right. Was just trying to think of what may be better car made here. Well, how about I expand that to NASA instead of just US?
