Default check engine light

I know this is not an s2 question but that being said I had electric brakes hooked up to my subaru baja (for pulling a small trailer) and aferter they finished I got the dreaded flashing check engine light. My question is will this reset or relearn itsself or do I have to go to a dealer and have them do it?

first, I have to move this to car talk since it's not an S2k question.

second, a check engine light comes on for a reason. "resetting" it to "relearn" itself has absolutely NOTHING to do with a CEL. DO NOT CLEAR A CEL WITHOUT FINDING AND FIXING THE PROBLEM FIRST!!!!!!!!!

that said, no one here can tell you what's wrong with it. check your owner's manual and see if a flashing CEL means not to drive the car. depending on that, you need to get the code pulled to find out what it is, because no one here can tell you what it will be without that code.

If it were my car, I'd sure want to know what the code was for, even if it did go away by itself. It could mean a precursor to something that will rear its ugly head again in future.
Don't be one of these:
