if you can get passed the looks (definitely not a car that will garner a double-take)... it's solid on paper. Great stats... moderate performance, just a complete eyesore.

and ignore spudracer, he's just trolling.

I elimintated the crossfire from my options as tall people don't fit.
By "tall"..I hope you mean 6'9" and above!!
Car And Driver or Road and Track said anyone over 6 foot would have issues with the fitment.

Don't believe everything you read. I've been in one, am 6' tall, and there was plenty of extra room. I don't think it would feel cramped if I were 6'5". There is plenty of room inside.

I'm almost 6'3".
I didn't fit.
It's just ergonomically wrong for me, maybe not for everyone...

Crossfire has a low hanging dash from what I can remember. I drove one a while back and being 5'8 it felt cramped to me.

Hey spud racer..thanks for all the info and tips!

Is your suspension "stock"....I know SRT went their usual route with
the suspension..i.e. more performance... springs/dampers/bushings etc.
I have to hope they've done more with this application than they
did with the SRT-4 which IMO was very weak(except the ACR special edition).

I think the only thing I would want to change would be to go either coilovers
or at very least Pro-Kits from Eibach....I think(kinda already know) that with the
extra 400lbs. and also just plain out "mass" that I will be dissapointed after
driving around in an S for 2 years..but really there are many high performance
cars that weigh more than this Crossfire...(GTI..370Z..M3..1 series...etc.)

Should be fun..also it's a Cadillac dealership which I'm told has many CTS-V's
sitting around...so while I surely won't purchase I undoubtably will drool
on 1 or 3 of them!! yech!
My car has the stock SRT suspension. And yes, they were criticized for going too extreme with this car's suspension. But coming from my 08 S2000, I didn't find it harsh at all. Don't even think about spending money on the suspension until you've owned the car for a while. For about $1,000 you can add a S/C pulley and tune for >400 HP and ~390 lb/ft. That's where I started. Well actually, I started with tires. The SRT6 came standard with Continental all season tires and there was a no cost option for Michelin Pilot Sport performance tires. Mine had the OEM Conti's on it so I swapped em out day one for Dunlop Sport Max TT's. Tires are probably the best money you can spend for quick handling improvement.

PS - One more tip that may or may not help your fit. The steering wheel telescopes manually but doesn't tilt. Just reach under the steering column and you'll feel a U-shaped lever. Pull towards you to unlock it and push it back in to lock it where you want it.

Apologies to the OP but I think the car mags were right.

Being 5'11" is best - not too short, not too tall for most things.

Did the test drive today...the car is an '05 SRT-6....56K miles..asking
$14,400.
My fit issues weren't bad..I had plenty of leg room considering I have
a 37.5" inseam..but my headroom was limited just a bit..I have more headroom
in my S.

PROS: car is a very nice blue like spud racer stated..and it looks much
better in person than pics..handling was ok and pickup was nice.

CONS: forgive me for being a fan boi/homer..but the S just handles and
feels cat quick/much more agile than the SRT.
The SRT...just felt soo much bigger..the dash is very prominent in front of
you and hood as well.
The power was ok..couldn't really wind her out 'cause of my salesman and
the test route didn't really give any opportunity for anything spirited!
The salesman was a nice guy..but lets just say he's closer to 70 than 65!
The sales manager did say I was welcome to drive again and take any route
I choose..also to not let the salesman influence my driving style.
The S to 40 to me is entertaining while in the SRT I was compelled to
turn on the radio something I never do in the Honda.
In fairness to the SRT..I think anycar heavier/larger than the S I just
won't really care for..I very much enjoy smaller cars.
And I guess the SRT6 is like the SRT-4 in that the throttle response/
big power is only accessed while in the bottom inch of the gas pedal.

Ha, I know what you mean about the SRT6 feeling bigger. Even when I had the two side by side in my driveway the SRT6 appeared to be a much larger car from every angle even though I knew it was 2" shorter, only 1" wider and taller, and 375 lbs heavier than my S2000. I think the Crossfire is bulkier meaning it doesn't have the really low hood lines of the S2000. So it just looks fatter with the thicker engine bay and hatchback rear end. And it feels like a bigger, heavier car from behind the wheel. More solid. Which isn't surprising since it has a fixed roof.

If you owned the car, you'd quickly find out that part of the "feel" that you're missing from the S2000 is the lighter weight springs and the more compliant suspension. The S2000 springs will load up in a corner at lower forces and allow you play with trailing throttle oversteer at those lower forces. It's part of the "tossability" everyone falls in love with. I've found that the SRT6 will do the same thing but because the springs are much stiffer, it takes more force to load them before you feel the same "rebound" effect with trailing throttle. It will do it, you just have to drive it differently. Luckily the car has more grip so higher forces are possible. As for power oversteer, any gear, any engine speed thanks to "torque everywhere" from the blower. Which again is vastly different from the S2000 but easy to adapt to.

As for the urge to turn on the radio, I'll have to admit that I almost never listened to the radio in my S2000. I loved the sound of the F22C. Until it got annoying that is. The SRT6 on the other hand doesn't make much noise, good, bad, or otherwise. The exhaust note is smooth and powerful but won't earn many ooohs or aaahs from inside or outside the cockpit. I blame Mercedes here. It may be the nature of the weird little 3 valve twin plug V6 with a blower on top or it may just be Mercedes unwillingness to allow exhaust noise. Mostly what you hear is a vacuum cleaner whoosh from the blower. In contrast I was crawling along in morning traffic behind a brand new Shelby GT the other day. I know I give Mustangs a bunch of crap but I have to admit, that car deserves an A++ for the soundtrack. I can't imagine a piston engine sounding much better than that. It rumbled at low speed but the pitch rose to an angry snarl as the speed increased. Lexus can keep their V10 LFA.

If you do drive it again, careful with the traction control turned off. This car can bite just like the S2000 but for a different reason. There's a lot more torque under your right foot.

Have you heard a C63 or SLS? I'd say Mercedes is very willing to unleash monstrous exhaust noise on the world.
