I was at the local dealer having them change my oil on the S the other day. They had a couple si's and were asking $32,000!! That's right...no typo. They had a Civic EX with leather stickered at $29,000. I told the salesman that at 32k, most people would take a look at the G35coupe. He agreed, which I thought was funny.

He went on to say that it was a limited production car. HA. What is a shame is that most people who don't absolutely love the car before taking a test drive wouldn't even begin negotiating with a $10,000 markup. You can't win with these guys, that's for sure. The real shame is for Honda because they shouldn't have to compete in this pricepoint but they have no control over these dealers.

Only idiots would pay these stupid dealers this kind of money. The dealers might earn more money than Honda itself from each of these Civic Si's, but all they did was brought in the car and did a little checks here and there.

SI's are maked up here as well as Fits. Heck ever MY07 S2000s are marked up to 37k.

All the Sis I've seen are at MSRP, same for Fits. S2000s are usually at deep discounts.

Yeah, you must be an idiot to pay over MSRP for any Honda now.

The power of brand and model reputation. "Civic is a good car" "Honda is a good car" "I want an Si"

Of course in Car Talk, all determinations are made solely on a price:hp ratio so on that basis nobody would ever buy a Honda, including the S2000.
