Classic car guys, need some advice....
I am trying to start my classic car collection, and was going to kick it off with a '57 Bel Air. However, I have recently come across a STUNNING 1953 Olds Super 88/98 Holiday edition (I couldnt tell which one exactly it was..no badges...), that is all original, one owner, looks like it rolled off the factory assembly line yesterday, full running motor, brand new showquality whitewalls, etc etc etc. Just wondering if anyone has something to say about em....good, bad, and etc. You think its a wise investment/collectible.... (note, these cars will never be for sale, as they are for my personal collection)
Here are some pics of the car.

The BJ auction will often set the upper range for a particular car. But Hemmings is probably you best source of information for that car.
Based on my limited knowledge, Hot Rods and Muscle Cars are doing crazy, crazy money. Classics from the teens

If your not going to sell it and you like the car more then the Bel Air then get it. I personally can't take going to another chevy/ford show and finding mile after mile of 32' and Bel Air's that all look nearly the same.
If it's in as good as condition as you say price it out with hemmings or have it apprasied and just enjoy the car.
Chevys for some reason are getting stupider on pricing, I have no clue what is driving them up at the rate they are going butt, corvettes and early thunderbirds are insane right now, I don't understand the Cuda obsession, but at least there are a limited number of cars out there.

Thanks for the wisdom. I have never really had a particular insterest in this car, but after seeing it in person, I fell in love. The guy wants 14,000, but Ill probably talk him down to about 10 or 11K.

He told me he has 3 more and simply has no room. I did everything to the car short of drive it (he had to have driven it, it was a car show) and everything was flawless. Why do you think its a red flag? I would like to know, this might save me a big headache....

I have a very different interpratation of show quality then most people which is why I thought the price was out of line, post up some pictures I would really like to see it.
