Craigslist car scams
You know I have always wanted to actually get my hands on one of these checks just to see what they look like. I am told they are drawn on foreign banks. I am not willing to risk giving my real address out though just in case it's some whack job that would actually show up at my door! Hence the "Hugh G. Rection @ 69 Schlong St" alias. I did have one person who clued in to the name being fake right away and they responded "haha, you are comedian LOL". It is easy enough to string these people along generally, but using the name Hugh G. Rection makes me feel warm inside just because I know I am smearing their noses in my bullshit on top of it all.
What the hell... if I can cost them $15-20 on a UPS/Fedex overnight at least it will give them some incentive to stop trying to scam people. I figure they must come from people who don't have much money, so that shipping cost might actually hurt them a bit. If everyone started doing this, we might just be able to do away with this nonsense!
DJHohum- I still have the wheels, but they are for a Lexus GS not an S2000.

Where I used to work I got an email wanting to buy a buttload of spark plugs and various other parts. I smelled something fishy right away. My boss hands me the email and wants me to check it out. I started emailing the guy (supposedly in NY) and told him I need a credit card number and photo ID. Sends me a scan of an obviously fake passport. I called him on it and never got another email. Had a real life in person wanna be scam tried to get pulled on me when I worked at a motorcycle shop. This guy comes in and wants to order all these body parts for his bike and wants them shipped to NY (what's the deal with NYC anyways?). Supposedly, he's travelling from Florida to NY. Pays with a credit card. I check his ID (cause the whole thing seemed a little funny) and it matched. I then made copies of his card and ID and he pays. I get the parts in and ship them. Two weeks later, the card company calls and says he's denying the whole thing and wants the charges reversed. But, I had proof of everything and they didn't take the money back from us.
Here's an advice for you: anytime you'd see "Am (this and that)", it's a clearly sign of a scammer. Nigerian scammers always use "Am" as a lone word, instead of "I'm" or "I am". It's weird. Maybe they are taught like that.
