a day with exotics and the S2000
it is funny cuz the miata is so much fun to drive even compared to the ferrari.
so for everyday driving is the miata more fun to drive than and s2k???
not a chance unless HIGHLY moddified
It's threads like these that make me appreciate being part of the S2000 community.
Some people think that HP and torque = fun
Some other people understand that curb weight, transmission, braking AND steering feel are just as important in the fun factor.
It's funny how some people think that top speed and 0-60 times = fun and a good car.
The thing that always strikes me when I drive another car and then hop in back to my S2000 is the feel of the shifter: it feels so good, it makes the right noise when you get it into gear....
The other car that ressembles that great ''feel'' of the S2K is the RX-8 IMO. The shifter is great, steering quick and precise and it doesn't feel that heavy.
But what I would do to get a chance to drive an F430.....I'm jealous!!!!

so t3h s2000 must be the s3x.

if i wanted to drive just to enjoy, i'd drive the S.
if i wanted to enjoy, show off and make obnoxious noises everywhere i went and worry about where i park, i'd go with the f430 spyder.
if i wanted to race, f430 coupe.
enjoy and be on a tight budget, mx5.
they are all great cars, ROUGHLY equal on a fun to drive rating.

Sounds like a fun day! I've driven a fair # of exotic/near exotic cars as well, and also feel the S2000 driving experience holds up very well once you strip away the nameplates, fancy styling, etc.
Yes, most of them are significantly faster, but that doesn't always translate in more fun to drive, esp. in the real world where traffic, cops, and traffic lights interfere w/ the fun.
