Default Documentation Fee

I'm about to buy a DD and i'm thinking of getting a Mini Cooper S, turbo version, for until I get out of school then get another car to enjoy when I get a new job.

But as I was talking to the dealership, I have to special order my car since they don't have one with all the options that I want and they tell me since I'm ordering it they won't sell it under MSRP, also I saw on the quote a 388.00 documentation fee.

Should I request a discount and/or no documentation fee in order to win my business?

Or am I just stuck paying retail and getting raped?

Zac

Hell, go to Costco & get a reference dealership. I have never had to pay over MSRP for my car from that program, and the discount have been pretty good. Not the best, but pretty good.

Or find the Mini Cooper board and see if they have dealers on there. Usually those dealers are pretty good about getting you the best price.

Find a used one man. And that documentation fee is utter bs, don't ever pay that. When buying a new car, I never pay more than $500 over invoice, and I believe that is the most you should ever pay. MSRP is a crock.

What about getting it special ordered since there's none in the country with the options that I want. Am I still able to get a decent deal or just go to Costco or Sam's Club and get it under MSRP....
