i don't see a problem with DBW or braking by wire for that matter with a daily driver. however DBW regardless of whatever marketing bullshit we have been fed really seems to hurt throttle response. and I would imagine brake by wire will really hurt the driving experience of a proper sports car on the track. would the brake pedal feel like butter all the way to the floor?
This is my biggest problem with DBW - delayed response for emissions purposes or lazy programming. DBW should at least have settings to make the car more responsive - cars with simple and lazy DBW are annoying to drive.

Hey, I love my dual throttle maps in my M3 and former CS!

No complaints w/ DBW implementation on any of my vehicles.

BTW, DBW brakes are already hear on the Honda CBR 600/1000RR w/ ABS options, and the reviews are overwhelmingly positive.

Some are luddites. Some aren't. Depends on the individual, really.

It's funny that you bring this up. I've noticed a sudden acceleration issue with my S2000 lately. The car seems to suddenly start accelerating when I press the gas pedal.

Glad I didn't buy a Toyota.

Anyone who portrays drive-by-wire as some dangerous, untested technology is naive given that commercial airliners have used it for decades.

Can drive-by-wire fail with deadly consequences? Of course, just as mechanical systems do all the time.

The DBW in my STi is very good. The DBW in the Maserati was absolutely terrible, and cost ~$1200 for an aftermarket mod to fix it.

STi has it (so did my '07 Si Sedan and my Ridgeline) but I can reprogram the TPS to any way I want it with a tune. Very responsive as it is now, can't tell any difference from a cable. Can't wait to tune man, shat!
