Default drove a Tesla roadster today! AWSESOME!

Visited the Santa Monica Tesla showroom today. Kirsten , the manager there was fantastic and gave us a full tour of the shop and a detailed overview of the product. Sammer and I then took their demo out for a drive. Awesome little car. Handled like a lotus, with very stiff suspension and heavy steering. The torque was unreal, very very quick car. Had a nice stereo set up and monitor for the system diags. It is strange to have no noise other than a little whine (sounds like a quiet supercharger) when you nail it. The 2010 interior is fantastic and the S trim level will be out in July. They also have a sedan coming out in the 50-60k range in about 2 years that looks amazing.

As much as I want to like this, I remain skeptical that it is awesome... a test drive might sway me. lol.

I second that.

My house has solar panels (part of the new home), and I am still have free electricity every month. Would be great to use some of these electricity and not have to pay for gas, fluid maintenance, or many components in cars that goes wrong with age... other than the batteries.

Battery tech is getting cheaper and more advance every day. And with Obama printing money to invest in battery tech, the Tesla's battery would be affordable when replacement is needed. Of course, it makes having a car last forever really sucks.
