Well strangely enough that was my thought when I went shopping for a new vehicle, and I just loved the Element, but look what won out...

9,500 pounds towing capacity
There's not a lot of band equipment that equals 9,500 lbs. And yeah, my girlfriend isn't petite, but she's nowhere near that either.

Well ya see I was between the Element or the Titan. The Element would do nearly perfectly for a daily driver for me because of the huge interior space, and I figured when I had to tow the S to the track I could rent a truck. But in the end the Titan just won out, and believe me, I understand how strange of a leap that might seem to some, but since I have had the Titan, I have used it. I still have a real soft spot in my heart for the Element.

And I just love the new 2006 look!

I'm looking to add a utility type vehicle, and I keep ending up at the Ridgeline. but of course i don't need covered storage like you probably do with the music equipment

I too really love the new look of the Element.

I just found this article on the Liberty and found it very interesting. People that haven't owned a modern diesel powered car or truck don't know what they're missing. They're not the slow smelly loud things they used to be and they get great mileage. I've got a gas car, a diesel car, and a diesel truck and the only one I'm interested in selling burns gas.

What about the Mazda 5? It looks to be a very capable vehicle and is still relatively rare.

I used to like the Element but then I sat in one at my Honda dealer while the S was in for an oil change. What a joke of an intetior. I don't mind the exterior look of the vehicle as it's meant to be functional, but why make the interior so ugly. I also wouldn't want to fold up those rear seats and then have my cargo sliding around on the cheap looking plastic floor. It only has 4 seats so it can't carry a full load of people. It can't tow and it won't go offroad. At least its cheap...

Im guessing you sat in the Element with the 2 tone interior (blue and gray). I'm not a fan of that interior at all. But the black interior is very sharp (for that type of vehicle). Also, keep in mind that the 2006's with the painted panels add alot of class to the vehicle IMO.

Yes, that's the interior I sat in. The black does look a million times better. I'm still not a fan of the instrument cluster though. Just my opinion...

The Mazda 5 is worth a look. I'm surprised I didn't think to mention it because I am a fan of it. Small, lots of room, trick seats and doors, and still fun to drive. I just wish Mazda dealers would order a few with manuals.

The Equinox *appears* a hair too big, but I may have to go check it out. Thanks.
Here is a review of the Pontiac version of the Equinox and it appears it should not be considered Pontiac Torrent
Especially when you find out the motor is made in China!
