Default Evo MR

Is it going to be as fast as talked up to be... I came across an Evo-forum and they said it'd be low 13's at best... but 12.9 possible. Evo MR was trapping around 107.

What does the current Evo trap at and what is its 1/4 mile time?

Evo MR though, is it gonna be that fast?

I've seen the US EVO8 trap around 98-101 mph. I highly doubt the MR will do 107 mph. Not on our shores at least.

That's what I thought! ^^

I just read that the stock turbo will be bigger than the current EVO VIII and will have more low and mid range pull... This is what was interesting to me!

Also 300 lbs lighter!

On the Evo board they said low - mid 13's was more realistic...

Wow, is it really 300 pounds lighter?? I always thought the 300 pounds was a typo in the magazines and that the actual weight difference is 30 pounds. I just don't see how they could shave 300 pounds from lighter wheels and an aluminum roof.

Low 13's sounds alot more feasible! If i remember correctly, the EVO 8 GSR in Japan runs 12's over there, but it only runs mid 13's in the states. I guess the better gas has that much of an effect! With the superior gas they get in japan, i'm guessing the fuel and timing maps can be made much more aggressively and with less boost taper allowing for a much better quarter-mile time.

I read all EVOs will have a few more hp and TQ for 05.

Also the MR will have a 6-speed manual and presumably different gearing, so maybe it will add up in the 1/4 mile.

The EVO RS is the light one
For those of us who find comfort just a distraction, Mitsu has now conjured up the Evolution RS; an EVO shorn of niceties and about 146 pounds. Gone are the rear wing, rear wiper, ABS, A/C, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, the trunk trim, the leather wrap around the parking brake lever, the sound system, map lights, most of the sound deadening, some bucks off the sticker price and a good chunk of the commuter friendliness

the mr's 6 speed gear ratio is very close to the 5 speed evo. perhaps the larger turbo, lighter wheels, lighter body, and the new bilstein suspension in the mr helped it to achieve the 12.9 1/4 time.

Why would a 6-speed have the same ratios?
