EVO vs. s2000
94rexsf: Was that really necessary? I prefer Rx-7's also, but that was not relavent to the topic at hand at all. He could probably counter with how unreliable 3rd gen Rx-7's were (damn sequential turbos).
To tell you my theory, from a roll the S2000 has a shot, but it will be close. All wheel drive means all wheel drivetrain loss, which is an advantage for the S2000. However, the weight difference matters less and less as the speeds get higher and even though the EVO only has 5 gears, they are very agresive and the only time you could manipulate that is if you go from 112 mph cause that's when they have to shift into a rather tall 5th gear at the fuel cut of 7600 rpms (redline is at 7000). Also, you cant ignore the 31 CRANK hp advantage that the EVO holds. But the S2000 would have a chance. However, this is all theoretical and I have not heard of any races from a roll. I did hear about some EVO owners bragging that they whooped a couple S2000's from a stop but I think everyone expected that.
Of course with a boost controller and a V-AFC on the EVO or any of the stage 1 or stage 0 packages from various maufacturers, it's the EVO all the way.
