LOL, I actually spend a few precious moment of my life reading all 5 pages of threada they had up there. Damn, EVO owners does not like it one bit if you ever compare your car (or any other cars) to theirs at all huh....
I think I'mma uninstall all of my mods and buy me an EVO so I can go groceries shopping and actually fits all of my purchases in the trunk. Better yet, I'mma trade in my S with the mods and get maybe like 2 evo's so I can be twice as fast and twice as cool. I like an Evo for the MOD-ability, but for the looks.....um....(cough*fugly*cough)..in My Humble Opinion ofcourse. Ain't try'n to flame..just want to express my opinion after reading all of the replies over there..AND just didn't wanted to waste time REGISTERING to an EVO community. Thanks for letting me vent...(damn, I'm starting to sound like an EVO owner).

I'm an S2000 owner who is looking to add an Evo to my garage. I am both embarassed and turned off by the fanboi-ism emanating from both ownership camps. I'm also exhausted by all the contrived attempts to compare and contrast the two vehicles.

Both are awsome, driver-centric vehicles with unusually high performace capabilities from the factory. And that's where the similarities and comparisons end.

 

s2k FTW!! just kidding. i've had the chance to drive a stock and modded evo and it truly is an amazing machine. if i was to nitpick, the 4g63 doesn't exactly have the sweetest exhaust note, but i guess when you're accelerating that fast who cares.

 

 

The bickering and badgering is ****ing stupid. Unfortunately, it's the minority of owners that make the majority look like assholes. It's been like this since the beginning of motorsports, however. This will never change. As long as there are cars, there will be endless debates about which is better and why. I can accept this. What I can't accept are the juvenile tactics that most people use, grow up.

The Supra and RX-7 guys are the absolute worst.

 

Agreed, I don't know how all this started as I am trying to stay out of it. EVO's are good at their thing, S2k's are good at our thing. The cars are not even close to being comparable and are in totally seperate segments.

 

That seems to be changing towards the SRT-4 guys now...I think it comes along with the younger fanboi crowds. I have an old friend who went from an Eclipse to a Poopra and he definitely got a chip on his shoulder and an I'm better than thou attitude once the car arrived.

 

Both cars are great.

Yes, EVO can out race an s2k. But most of us did not get our s2k for ricing (NOT TYPO... )

If someone wants to compare racing specs... here is one.

S2k... about 10-12 seconds to drop the top.
EVO... 10-20 minutes to CHOP the top.
