Glad you're going to write this out. I always wondered why you never completed the build. Looking forward to reading this.
I have struggled for some time to express my thoughts about all of this. Obviously I am pretty ashamed of what I did, but I cannot turn back the clocks. I can only press forward and hope that I have learned from most of my mistakes.

If you have any specific questions please ask away. This is an informative thread in which I hope to spark questions from you all as to what I found to work/not work, what I would change if possible, etc.

Yes I have a specific question(s). How and WHY did you spend $50K in mods on a Civic LX?

Wow, you've gotten pretty far money-wise into all your cars.

Are you in any kind of debt because of this? What do you do for a living?

My buddy recently picked up an Evo IX, same color and has already gone with a mostly JDM set up.

HKS suction kit
Tomei ARMS 20g Turbo
Tomei exhaust manifold
Tomei upper and lower IC piping
1 step colder sparks
EMS IC core
Works exhaust
HKS EVC
Walbro fuel pump

Should be getting tuned within the week at HB Speed.

How? Over $10k in stereo system and custom fiber interior; over $15k in engine swap, clutch upgrade, various bolt-ons, EMS, tuning; several different body kits; 4-5 different exhaust systems; 4-5 different sets of wheels; multiple paint jobs; lots of custom work; etc. Adds up pretty quick.

Why? Stupidity.

We've pretty much paid cash for all the mods. We do have some car loans though. My wife and I make decent money, but are far from being "ballers".

2QYK4U,

slightly off-topic but do you know any exhaust companies for the EVOs who make a stainless steel rolled tip dual exhaust system that doesn't look like a civic coffee can exhaust or sounds "farty"?

Its a tough question because I haven't found one myself

Your question isn't off topic. This thread is going to cover my former S2000 and my wife's current Evo. Any questions pertaining to those two cars are fair game.

If the system is for an Evo IX, I have yet to see a dual exhaust system and IMHO opinion the Evo IX looks really good as is with a single exhaust system. If the system is for an Evo X, I believe AMS has a new dual exhaust system available.

Completely different good? Can you provide more color/description?

From a general performance, feel, fun per dollar perspective, how would you rate the Hondata reflash (with header)?

If you were to do it again would you leave the S n/a? I've heard a few people say that they felt the S was more "fun" before they were boosted even though it was slower b/c of the characteristics of the car. Do you feel the same way.
