Evora or Carrera

But the rear-engine problem of a 997 can be cured with the new 320HP Cayman S that blows away the Evora.
A 2005 Boxster S can match the performance of the Evora, be it acceleration, braking, handling, steering. And you can get one for 25-30K. Plus it's a roadster.

I've had first-hand experience with Lotus products.
While it's fit and finish is pretty good(for a low production, hand made car), it's no where close to P-cars.
Plus, I'd rather buy a sports car with history(like Quick2k said) than buying a kit car(?) with an outsourced engine

What exactly makes you think it has any kit car qualities?
Why did my post get deleted? It involved the topic at hand. If you wanted to remove the irrelevant part, that's fine, edit out that part. But my contention about a car's engine having more to do than just peak numbers merits a place in this thread. Ridiculous.
I would direct this in a PM if I knew who deleted it.

Wow, some of you people are as ignorant as they come.
The depreciation on a new 911 seems really bad, but that's mostly because you can hardly ever find base models. Everyone I see in stock always has a ton of options and costs upwards of 75-80k at least.
Assuming the lotus doesn't have the egress and ingress issues of the elise I wold look hard at it. I'm no fan of the elise, but this is a different car..I wold give it a hard look. But, in the end I think I would probably just go with a slightly used base 911.

You all are bloody bastards. I'm about 18hrs away from buying a 997 and all I can think about now is "where (and when) the bloody hell can I buy an Evora?"
Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited about the 997. I love Porsches. But I've almost bought a Lotus about 5 times... and the Evora may be something I could live with... so I wouldn't mind trying that at some point.
