I'm just wondering if this is going to spread!

Thats interesting.

Dont label a "Beware" like this idea is a bad thing. I actually support it.

You have no idea how many times I have seen a driver cut off another driver just to get around a truck. Or weird, dangerous maneuvers drivers find necessary to get around trucks. I've personally been almost hit when a driver tried to cut into my lane in order to avoid having to slow down for the truck in front of him.

So don't say beware, just don't drive like jackasses next to big trucks.

Thats true. I never cut trucks off nor do I ride too closely to them. I guess this is a better way to enforce the laws against driving aggressively around truckers. I'll change the title.

The same thing should be done here in SoCal. I swear, it seems like nobody follows the posted highway speed limits. I'd like for some of these guys who honk at truck drivers for driving 55 mph in the slow lane to be ticketed.

The problem there is idiotic CA interstates where the speed limit for cars is 70mph and 55mph for trucks. Lived out there for a year and a half and can't count how many times I saw a car merge onto the interstate into the rightmost lane behind a truck, then almost get rear-ended as it moved (at 55mph) into the adjacent lane containing cars going 75-80mph. Speed differentials are much more dangerous than speed itself. Making trucks stick to the right lane is fine, but let them drive whatever speed is necessary to keep everyone safe.

I think this idea is great except for the speeding part.....how are they going to issue tickets for speeding when they're riding on big rigs? VASCAR?

if you read the article, they said the officers in trucks radio in other patrol officer to pull the cars over.

That still doesn't answer my question as to how they will determine the vehicle's speed...
