Default Features that surprised you

Curious whether you all have discovered features that you didn't think you cared about or didn't know existed, and then once you have them you think they're fantastic and can't live without them.

E.g., I never would have explicitly paid for, or thought I'd love, a heated steering wheel. But I had a car with one, and discovered it's fantastic. Sounds silly, but now I miss it.

And now for the first time I have Keyless Go or whatever you want to call it, and it's starting to irritate me when I have the other car and I have to actually reach into my pocket for a key and then go to the trouble of sticking it into the ignition. Feels like so much unnecessary work now. But before this I thought that was a silly option. Now I love it. Complete surprise to me.

p.s. I assumed this topic would have been covered but I searched and can't find one.

some cars have a device to tell time, you can actually see without opening the radio cover that's kind of nice.

This is so true... I need a few seconds to see if I'm on time for work

Another one is a dead-pedal. they don't have them on some cars, like the Fit. It feels weird to rest your foot on a piece of carpet over the wheel well.

A radio that doesn't suck. Going for the S2000 to the SSL evo was a revelation. I knew I used to like music....

I have an "emergency Rockstar" in that compartment, if I have a long drive home. It also conveniently fits a gun

Seat heaters, 'nuff said. I was never big on 'em until I bought a car with 'em.

Taquito, regarding your comment on the discovery of your S's compartment, I did that to my sister once. She has a Grand Am with pass-thru rear seats to the trunk. She drove that thing for like 6 years and didn't even know it had that feature.
