Here's the scoop from another forum on this deal.

"2008 Subaru STi - $6k off and 0% for 63 months
I searched and didn't see this, so I thought I would post given the popularity of the Saabaru deal a few years back.

THE DEAL
Subaru of America is offering up to $5k cash back to dealers that sell a certain number of STIs between now and the end of the sale, 1/2/09. My dealer said their number was 2, but I have also read 3 and 4. Regardless, work off the assumption your local dealer will be getting $5k cash back from SOA and negotiate from there. In addition, they are offering 0% for 63 months for "well qualified" buyers. My finance guy showed me the paperwork and it listed 700 as the credit score needed, but he said they had financed a guy with 685 the day before. Subaru's website does not list this deal, but it's been confirmed by numerous dealers.

What I did was go on line and request quotes from about 8 dealers that were within driving distance. The all initially offered about $3k discount via email. I responded and mentioned the $5k SOA money and said my best offers were discounted from there. Out of the 8 dealers, all but one replied with at least $5k off MSRP. The 3 best offers were $6200-$6500 of a base model which stickered at $36,300.

MY DEAL
MSRP - $36,300
Sale Price - $29,800 and 0% for 63 months

I have read of people getting as much as $9k off some of the fully loaded models, but have not confirmed this myself. My dealer said he could do close to $8k off on a model with Nav and BBS wheels.

DEALERS that are heavily discounting, figure at least $6k off a base model (Pulled from NASIOC except for the first 2 in Texas that I personally dealt with). I'll try to update this section as people post their deals.
Texas - Georgetown Subaru, Huffines Subaru
California - Shaver, South Coast, Irvine, Sherman Oaks
Colorado - Heuberger Motors in Colorado Springs
Conneticut - Suburban Vernon
New Jersey - Cherry Hill
Oregon - Carr Subaru Portland
Washington - Carter in Seattle

I'm pulling more dealers, but I wanted to go ahead and get this posted because these are going fast. "

I pick mine up tomorrow at an even $5k under invoice and 0%/63 months. We weren't in the market a week ago, but this is too good of a deal to pass up on a car that I've been considering for months...
You beat my deal! I got $4k and some change off of invoice but it really depends upon the car, what color, options, etc. I could have gotten a base model for $29.7k but I just had to get the BBS/Fog light option

You can add Chino Hills Subaru. They have two more with bbs (maybe navi) in stock.

They took 8k off MSRP the base model w/o haggling and 0% financing for 63 months. Easiest car purchase ever!

tommydevito and nala, where are you guys getting these deals? btw, i'm in the dallas/ft. worth area too.
Subaru in Arlington thought I was crazy on the phone. The closest dealer to me is in Plano, and they wouldn't touch it either. Huffines in Lewisville will play ball, ask for John. Subaru of Dallas will also do the deal, ask for Zach. Good luck.

I can't sleep heading to the dealership tomorrow. I'm going to pray for snow on the way home.

I think that was a case of the few scaring the many, honestly.

AT some point I will buy an AP and go stage 1 or 2. This will provide more power, make the powerband more linear and provide better MPG due to the engine running more efficiently.
Get a tune asap!

Damn y'all, what a bunch of bad influences you are! I may have to visit my local Subie dealer again soon. I wonder if my wife is ready to let go of her Jetta TDI?
