Default Finally got to ride by myself today!

just completed the MSF Course two weeks ago and got my licence last week, and finally my insurance yesterday, had some free time today and thought id ride around the neighboorhood. i know this is a really advance bike and it shouldnt be my first bike but i got it anyways. ive experienced overheating the bike because i wasnt going fast enough at residential area, is this common? i got in the neighboorhood of 205 degree's. anyways here are some pictures i took after i got back, never dropped it or anything and no frame sliders

a bike runs same temperatures as a car, when near the limit the fans should kick in and save your a$$, verify the fans work.

Bikes run hot in traffic. Highway operating temps in summer should be in the low 180's. At traffic lights most heat up to well over 200. Mine sat at 215 today at a traffic light. Fans kick on about 220 to 225 and you won't really overheat a bike until the 250 range (check your owners manual, it will outline the temperature ranges, etc).
