Awesome Chris, great post. Your comment about "May be too fast for the streets" (Z06) and "best all around" (M3) with the CS being a great driving experience is pretty close to what I was saying (of course, I was vague and meandering as usual...).

Thanks, DT. This thread was right up my alley given that I've owned 2 of the choices and seriously considered the other one!

of course right off the back if you drove a z06 and a cayman s the z06 feels good because of the power.

But there is something magical about porsches that you learn as you drive the car more and more.

You become one with the car and just learn more about the car.

try driving the z06 after owning the porsche for a couple of weeks.

once you get used to the porsche.... its really hard to drive something else. unless you upgrade by a lot.

The porsche is a very complete package.. its not the greatest in one aspect but it is so connected to you and feels very good that numbers cannot describe.

and also just the interior size of the car makes a big difference.. the corvette is quite big after you drive a cayman...the physical size of the car makes a big difference in and out.

The space that you have compared to the other cars and the road..

i own a 2006 boxster s
you are righ, there is something magical about porsches that you learn as you drive the car more and more, all the people looking. Even more magical when you take it to service.
O good friend of mine has had a 911 for about 6 years.

I hate when people make these threads and aren't more responsive during its discussion.

Test drove a C6 ZO6 the other day. When I get rid of my S... the ZO6 is at the very top of the list. The experience was visceral... in a completely different way than the s2000. The sound of the engine makes my blood boil

I say E46 M3, you will want the room over the Z06 being 19, haul more than 1 girl and with the money difference you could get a nicer, lower mileage M and a DD.

Z06 would be raw too though.
