Question First the Maxima/Sentra (not Altima)

Come on ... why does it have to look so close to the IS..?

I can see it now, your driving your IS500 down the street with some aftermarket rims and the guy next to you says while at a redlight; "Nice riced out Corolla!"

I like the IS500 too!

**Had to correct myself. I said Altima, but meant sentra.

Look at how the two cars look SOOO similar. Leveraging the higher priced car to sell the lower end models.

The Sentra looks like the Maxima.

I don't think it looks so bad. It's an economy car so I'm not expecting it to blow my socks off. Here is a respectable looking Toyota that I wouldn't care to see in my rear view mirror:

It's a mish mash of a lot of Toyota vehicles, but I see ES, IS, Camry and Avalon in it. Also, in the first picture shown on that news story the car looks like a Camry body on the wrong chassis. This Corolla looks nicer and more attractive inside, but I guarantee it'll be the same old sleepy four door with spongy handling and an automatic that can't stay in a gear more than 3 seconds, like most every Corolla for the last 15 years.

At least it'll be reliable.

The way the corners of the lights extend out beyond the body is really bad. It reminds me of all those older Sebrings with similar lights that never seemed to fit just right.
The interior looks like it might have promise but I would have to see if the materials are went down hill as they did in the new Camry. The Mercedes like LCD in front of the gauges is nice.
