Forester XT thoughts?
Hey guys, I've been thinking about a Forester XT lately and wanted to see if anyone has ever owned one. Insurance is pretty cheap on them, you can find them for under $10k, and like most subarus, parts interchange between models very well. You can find them all stock and unmolested unlike most WRXs and STIs

I'd probably throw the VF43 turbo from the STI on, do an STI top mount, cobb accessport and some tuning, and intake/exhaust mods and call it a day. Then add the new AST 4150s for the Subaru GD chassis, 17x9 Enkeis with 255s, a rear sway bar, and some brake pads.
Awesome daily/track day/do everything pretty decently mobile?

$10K for a daily so that you can spend $5K more for parts? Not sure if that makes a ton of sense or not. I like them, though!

well you spend 5k to make STi kind of a power. i like that car specially 2004 and 2005 model since you can just swap STi parts on without any modifications. love that extra trunk space too. i dont like how Subaru made it a small SUV on newer versions though. i am not planning on selling my current car anytime soon but if something would happen to my car and if i have to replace it i would get this and spend 5k or so to bring it up to STi power level. it would be one fun family car.

I don't know ZDan, I'd rather have this.

This isn't mine, but was from the Forester gallery on NASIOC. I have the same exact color and year, but will be going for an off road application versus street application.

I have a Subaru Forrester as a winter car and I can't see spending money on it to make it something it is really not. Forrester is a base utility car that is the most easy to get in and out of. It's not worth modding in my opinion.

It's just a taller wrx. Insurance is also much cheaper.
