A BRZ STi will be made eventually, but it will not be turbocharged. A turbocharged BRZ would negatively impact WRX STi sales. Subaru will probably do the BRZ STi like Honda did the Civic Mugen Si (exhaust, wheels, suspension, shift knob, body kit, badging).

I think the "no STI for BRZ because it will cannibalize WRX STI sales" logic is weak. There is probably some overlap in the target markets for the two, but there are plenty of people who have zero interest in 4-door cars and/or AWD, yet who would love to have a RWD coupe with the same amount of power. This is why cars like the Genesis coupe, 370z, Mustang, Camaro, etc. can exist along with the Evo/STI. Not really a whole lot of cross-shopping.

I agree. I see it as this, Subaru doesn't care if you get a BRZ instead of the STi as long as you are buying a Subaru. Not sure which one has higher margins would be the only consideration on Subaru's part.

Exactly. I've never been in the market for an AWD vehicle, or a sedan. Going forward I have no interest in either vehicle type either. BUT I would be interested in a 300 hp BRZ.
