Looks like they focused on putting muscularity in the rear styling...it looks like it's packing more heat than the last one. I wouldn't have had the taillights with the extra contour though.

The interior beat the IS, so I'll take one. It's also likely to be sportier, if the last G35 is anything to go by.

unimpressed.. IS350 > that. i think nissan has ran themselves into a corner with the VQ. all they can do now is make it use more gas fetching little power

As opposed to the other companies, with similarly sized V6s making similar power?

The VQ is easily more flexible than any of Toyota's V6s. In fact it powers everything smaller than a Titan and bigger than a Sentra/Versa. Frankly, I don't see how any Toyota or Honda V6 is any better, considering they all play in the same power and displacement ballpark, with the same tech add-ons like VVT. In fact Toyota still has a different V6 for the Tacoma/Tundra than it does for their cars. Nissan standardized it across the board, and built an engine than can serve many purposes well. They only change out the head on the XTerra/Pathfinder engine.

The only difference between Honda/Toyota's V6 and Nissan's at the moment is the hybrid add-on motor. But Maximas/Altimas already get pretty good mileage as it is, and have been for years on that engine.

Can't believe there are so many negative comments. I think this car is a huge improvement over the previous model. The interior looks much nicer, the instrument cluster itself is a massive upgrade over that orange crap cluster from before. The engine revs to 7500rpm, will make probably 320hp, and it costs low to mid 30's.

On top of that, it's RWD still and you can get an auto or manual tranny. That is reason enough to pick this over the IS350.
