Does the Civic HX still get better mileage than the hybrid?

The hybrids don't get the mileage claim under normal driving conditions.

I would imagine most of those cars are sooooo under powered that you need to floor them about 95% of the time...... i would end up getting 25mpg and hate how slow the cars were.

I once got 40+mph in a 1988 civic 4 door driving about 55mph to the beach and back...... it even had about 70k miles on it..

That old EPA city and Highway cycle test is unrealistic. The top speed on the hwy is 56mph. wtf Who drives 56mph on the hwy.

My wife's new seinna is listed at 27 mpg on the hwy. we did a couple of long distance trips and its giving 22.5 mpg. Then again she likes to cruise at 83 mph, and the engine only has 2000 miles on it.

in other words........

the hybrids are useless technology, it's pure PR

Better off just buying a car that is already relatively fuel efficient.

PS. We haven't even gone through battery replacement yet...;-)
