91 octane is like$4.60 a gallon. No matter what gas cost we here in the USA have it good compared to almost any other country. Most countries in Asia/ Australia and Europe it's well over $6 or $7 a gallon. That's why that have all these tiny cars there.

If they're democratically run countries then I don't take any pity on them. They have a problem with the high prices then do something about it through legislature. Nevermind that most of those astronomical fuel taxes subsidize all sorts of things, like rail transportation, etc. Anyway, you reap what you sow.
I hate to be "that guy" who "goes there", but I have to say it...

Markets for gasoline are different in most places around the globe - for all kinds of reasons. It's not the politician's job to meddle with the market price of gasoline. Just because the prices are high doesn't mean some politician is doing a bad job and just because they are lot doesn't mean they are doing a good job.

Many of the expensive countries have a 20%+ tax built into the price of fuel. While here state side it's a fix cent amount.

As much as most of us want to think it does not matter what the gas prices are.... well, it does as an economy. Someone has to pay for the fuel prices to bring you everything. We all know that those truckers are not going to eat the fuel cost spikes, nor the distributors. We will all pay for it. With less money power in our wallet, someone's job will have to pay for less purchasing power also.
In ever increasing numbers truckers are migrating to natural gas btw.
I saw. But most are setup with liquid NG. Wish that could be done with regular cars. NGV sucks as range sucks and pump pressure is a major issue.

Some local delivery trucks are going BEV all together. And those with older trucks are putting in alternative diesel motors just to cool/warm the cabin instead of running the big rig engine.

Things are being done to help, but unfortunately, not fast enough for these ever increasing gas prices.
