Default Getting my S2k Sponsored

Currently I'm working on getting my new 2000 S2k sponsored. I have a few companies in mind, and have looked into third parties such as sponsoredwhips.com and carsponsors.com etc. While some of my friends have had success with these, I know carsponsors.com does not have them currently as a sponsor, and was told by a representative of carsponsors that it can take from weeks to years to try to get me sponsored through these companies.

Soooo to get to the point of the thread, Does anyone have a resume or a workup or any sponsorships they have done in the past? I'm looking for a general layout etc for me to use. Anything like that would be greatly appreciated!! If anyone here has any suggestions as to how to make this process less painful, and more successful, I'm all ears. Thank you very much for your time!

Sponsored to do what? Racing? Showing?

Because otherwise you're just talking about wrapping your car in vinyl to advertise for the local restaurant. There are places that will pay you to run your car as a moving billboard. But maybe that's not what you had in mind.

In general, for someone to "sponsor" you... they have to get some benefit. What benefit are you providing?

Ckit is asking you, how you are going to provide the advertising for your sponsor's are you going to be a show car or a track car.
Sponsor require you to attended x amount of shows to maintain there sponsorship.

My plan is to start off showing, then depending on what my schedule will be like with3 army, determine what track events I'm going to be able to attend. Untill i get out, it will be hard, but I'm planning on hitting as many show/track events as I can.

Sorry for the lack of clarification

i would start by joining a team and start showing. then i would suggest getting to know people in the industry.

thats how i got some of my sponsors.

btw: i would never pay any companies to help with sponsorships like those you listed...

I agree with Sinji. Those sponsorships are usually bs and give you discounts on crap.

Starting to show with a completely stock car? Not to be an ass but good luck getting a sponsorship with that. Do you realize how many real sponsored cars there are and how competitive and sucky it is to actually be sponsored. If you got a REAL deal, unlike your friends, you'll be REQUIRED to attend a certain amount of REAL shows no matter how far away they are. They also don't give you free stuff, you still buy the stuff but at a slight discount.

Its not all fun and free stuff...

Can you change the title of this thread to "Looking for Free Stuff, clueless how to get it" ?

Really until you have done this without sponorship, you are never going to get a sponsor. You are the sponsor's advertising dollars at work. What are you planning on doing that makes that investment worth it to the sponsor?
