Default GTR break in

in the video, the testors go all out on the new car/engine. why do we, the owners, baby the engine until 600 miles if the cherry is already broken?

How many miles were on the test car? I thought it was already broken in somewhat and Edmunds borrowed the car from a member of the public who has been driving it for a while.

According to the article, they don't. I think they said the assembly line testers only take it to 75 mph. And the track time is evidently mostly for brake prep.

Don't forget that the engines go on a dyno before they're installed in a car, as well.

LOL, how many GTR threads are currently running? This car may be more significant than the NSX.

Not all engines have the same break-in requirements. It depends on materials, tolerances, etc. I'm sure the engineers developed a proper break-in procedure based on the design of the engine/brakes/etc.
