Default Heel Toe - Backwards?

How are you guys getting your toe on the brake and heel on the gas with the s2000? I swear my leg can't twist that way.

I have been doing it backwards (heel on brake, toe on gas), is anyone else backwards like me?

I use my toe on the brake (edge of the pedal) and role it on the gas at the same time,I do have a wide foot. The s2k pedals are nicely spaced for that method.

I have found the s2000 to be one of the most comfortable cars for heel-n-toeing. Maybe wider pedals would help? Foot size and even shoe type can make a big difference in terms of feel.

I can't imagine you would have anywhere near the level of control for braking with your heel compared to your toe.

My feet don't go that way either, but it's not really optional, you want the ball of your foot on the brake where you have the control to modulate the pressure-- that is the part of the action that requires precision. All you're doing with the gas is stabbing it to get the revs up, the less finite part of the process.

Yeah, that's all there is to it. In my RX7 the pedals were so close that I could use the left and right sides of my foot to do it, but in the S I just hit the brake with the ball of my foot and stab the bottom of the accelerator with my heel. It doesn't feel natural at first, but you'll get used to it with practice.

Wow, that would be pretty difficult to do!! I don't want to say never, but I honestly doubt that you could threshold brake/downshift in a track situation doing it like that. Your foot does go that direction?? It has to. Just use the ball of your foot on the brake, roll your heel around and blip the throttle.

Another way to do it is with the ball of your foot on the brake and roll the side of your foot into the throttle to blip it. In most newer cars it is not possible to do it this way without aftermarket pedals or really big feet, because the pedals are not close enough (something with lawsuits from people hitting both the brake and gas when trying to stop in emergency situations).

lots of practice

i don't use my 'toe', but the ball of my foot. I wouldn't feel like I had no control with just a toe or two.

Think of the action of squashing a bug with your foot, it should help you.

Just brake like you would normally and pivot your foot onto your gas pedal.
