We don't know everyone's situation though. Some might have paid off their car already, but due to extensive medical bills for a loved one that was in the hosptial, they can no longer afford the maintenance/tires.

I do agree though, at some point a vehicle needs to be deemed as "not fit road".

This is in Canada not the US, we have pretty good healthcare up here ;)

I just used that as an example lol. It could be anything that prevents people from being able to afford vehicle maintenance.

My point is, that sometimes its not something they can control, whereas "stancing" a car is something you have purposefully done.

I see what your saying, but if you cannot afford to keep your car roadworthy, then perhaps car ownership is out of the question and public transport is a better option. I understand the law prohibits hella flush in quebec for safety reasons, but it is ironic because IMO it is a much safer vehicle than the rustbucket rival. I would be much more comfortable driving alongside a well maintained hellaflush car then a POS rustbucket that could have a brake rotor fall off or snap a control arm when it hits the next pothole.

Except for the rustbucket is still running on stock suspension design that has enough suspension travel to be effective.

Compromising it to that degree gets you situations like this on the street with small bumps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29g386hXwyI

Kinda funny that the car in that video is also a Lexus..

The driver in that video was bound to crash driving like that though. The suspension/tires just made it easier for him.

Yeah his driving was pretty high on the jackass scale, but the accelerating across the expansion joint with that suspension is what got him. He was probably already on the bump stops and the pogo effect got the rear end loose.

Agreed.

What I hate more than hellaflush is an overreaching government.

No thanks. If I wanted to be Canadian, I would move there.
