help me decide
im tired of cruising around in my little crf at the track (pit bike)
im thinking about getting new pit bike for my trackdays... and something i can actually ride around my town
and maybe to my camping!
here are my options.
ill be searching for them in used market.
option #1
Honda Ruckus.
i like this scooter bc it looks simple and im pretty sure honda made this pretty dependable
cheaper than zuma (used/new)

option #2
Yamaha zuma.
im pretty sure this thing is well built too but i heard about carb issues
idk.
cost more than ruckus (used/new)

random post but any inputs will help
thanks for looking

I've sold both of them, the ruckus is a nice scooter. Nothing really to crazy about it but it's just got that utilitarian bad-ass appeal about it. The Zuma has an awesome aftermarket following as far as the motor goes because of the fact that it's a two-stroke. I think you'll have more fun overall with the Zuma

If you want reliability the Ruckus is the way to go - not cause its a honda(though that goes a long way) - its the 4 stroke aspect that makes it. They're also liquid cooled - not sure about the yamaha. Plus having to add oil to the 2 stroke even if it is a separate tank still sucks - besides the smoke trail they leave. - The honda: gas and go... Go Honda!
The reliability on a two stroke motor like that isn't really as much of an issue as say a motocross or off road bike. Normally they last just about as long as an owner is willing to keep the bike, no real problems to mention. A smoke trail is normally a sign that the oil and fuel mix is too rich so that its loading up with oil and not getting a good burn. A well maintained, well tuned two stroke motor is a beautiful thing.
