Help me decide....
hi guys,
i'm planning on getting a new car for my daily uses but i just can't decide which one to get. now i have only 2 options left for me to choose. civic si vs. toyota matrix xrs. they both have really good options and they both are pretty much the same in some way. that's why it is so hard to choose. but as for the size i might have to get the matrix and this is what i really have no choice on...
but i really like to have another si that can sleep next to my S (i used to have a 2000 si)
so here... can any of you help me to decide? i need reasons so please post as many as you can.
thanks.

Between those two choices, I'd rather have the Matrix also. I just don't like the design of the current Si. This is purely on designs. I haven't driven either one to have any opinions on the way they drive.
Have you considered the Mazda Protege 5? you can get them for 15400 if you wheel and deal.........they handling on the car is so great for the price. They look nice too. Go test drive one before you make a decision...it could be worth your time

I was in the exact same dilemma about five months ago. Another one of my choices as mentioned by Roku_F20C was the Mazda Protege 5.
Engine: I would say the Matrix XRS wins out over both the Si and 5. The Si's engine is nice but not as good as the Toyota's.
Transmission: Civic Si. The smoothest of the bunch.
Interior: All are OK. I preferred the Matrix.
Usable Cargo Room: The best here is by far the Matrix. While I believe the 5 is close in capacity it lacks the usability. Try to easily fit a mountain bike into the 5.
Fun Factor: Mazda 5. Much more tossable out of the box. For a front wheel driver.
Price: The 5 is the best value with the Matrix and civic trailing but close to each other.
My choice came to be the Matrix, albeit only the XR, needed the better gas mileage and no premium required. I am quite happy about the decision and have no regrets with the Toyota over the other two.
