Default Help me, now I need a back seat...

Sold my S2000 to buy a C5, just sold my C5 because I will shortly need a car with a back seat that will hold a child seat. Thought about used G35 or RX8, but would really like to have a convertible or removable top. Something in the $30k range. Used is OK. I can think of:

Mini convertible
2005 Mustang convertible
BMW 3 convertible
Audi A4 convertible

What else???

I'd get a used S4 vert or M3 vert if you can go to high 30s (i think you may be able to find one for that).

F-it get a Minivan the way you're going that's where you'll end up.

You can get an Oddy or Sienna for mid $20-$30Ks and pick up a sporty car later. IMO

Sounds like this is your first child. Think about the stuff you may need to carry along. Pac-N-play, stroller, high-chair etc...

You think any of that stuff is fitting in a Mini vert???

Until I sold the C5, I drove it or my Audi A6 Avant to work depending on the weather. Probably drove the C5 half the time in the summer. I'd still like something sporty to drive on nice days.

My wife is a doctor and can't easily leave work. I'm an engineer and have a flexible schedule. If the kid gets sick at day care I don't want to have to go home first and change cars.

We'd take my wife's Honda Pilot if we were going somewhere with the kid.

For 30k, I'd take a hard look at the Mustang. Decent performance, back seat and it's a new car. As long as you have room for formula and a bag of Cheerios you should be OK.

Just to note, if your not a midget, than a Mini Cooper (especially a convertible) is a 3 seater, unless you rear passangers are a baby seat and a midget.

I love those cars, but they are pretty much 3 seaters. But I cant imagine its much tighter than a Mustang Convertible, those things are jokes interms of back seat space. But then again, you dont buy a mustang convertible for a back seat.
